Created in 1988, the Harvey
Awards are held in honour of Harvey
Kurtzman, cartoonist, writer, editor and comics genius, who
is best remembered for MAD, Two-Fisted
Tales, Frontline Combat and Little
Annie Fanny. The Harvey Awards are one of the comics industry's
oldest and most respected awards as they are the only industry
awards nominated and selected by comics professionals. From 2006,
the Harvey Awards will be announced each year at the Baltimore
Comic-Con.
"...if I had to pick one single comic book that was the best comic book ever, it would be Kurtzman's MAD..."
